Due to snow, ice and wind; the collector should be integrated into the building facade or roof. ASV Solar can withstand a snow load of 900 kg. ASV Solar can be mounted on walls, as a free-standing structure, or on underlay of roofs. ASV Solar is mounted directly on the laths used for tiles or other roofing materials and on asphalt shingle.
Solar thermal collectors are not solar cells/photovoltaic (PV) Solar thermal collectors are 5 times as efficient as solar cells. A solar cell makes electricity, but a solar thermal collector heats water to heat houses, domestic water, swimming pool etc. It can also be combined with other energy sources, such as: electricity, biofuels, gas or heat pump.
Mode of operation: The difference thermostat measures the temperatures in the solar thermal collector and the reservoir (heat storage). When the temperature in the collector is higher than that in the reservoir, then the difference thermostat will start the water pump. The water will be pumped from the bottom to the top of the collector and absorb solar energy before it will return as hot water into the upper levels of the reservoir. All the water in the collector will drain back into the reservoir when the production mode ends. The hot water in the reservoir may be used for different heating purposes.
